Fresh meat or dried food ..?

For those of you who feed dried food, does your cat prefer it to fresh meat?

I ask because Tipsy will go for her Royal Canin over fresh meat (cooked).
I find it very strange, she even turned up her nose at a piece of left over steak one day , maybe it was too well done !!

Re: Fresh meat or dried food ..?

Mine all go for left overs of cooked meat, eg pork chops, lamb bones and fat that sort of thing, but I tried them on raw chicken wings and they didnt want to know, just tossed them around the place like new toys They have their biccies down all the time anyway, its just good to give them a bit of a change sometimes and try them on raw stuff. They do like chicken Applaws tho, it really does look good enough to eat yourself! In fact when the freezer is bare I might fry it with some mushrooms and white sauce, pmsl

Just thought! whatever you do, dont put cooked chicken bones down as they are brittle and can stick in cat's throat and choke them, raw ones are ok tho

Re: Fresh meat or dried food ..?

Thanks Saynamore.

While Tipsy's main food is the RC , I do try to give her a bit of variety , so I give her Applaws, sardines and fresh meat leftovers too.

She does eat the fresh meat leftover but would eat the RC first , very strange.

Don't worry , I don't give her any cooked bones or anything !

For a cat who was probably born in a dustbin, she's quite particular really !!

Re: Fresh meat or dried food ..?

I would choose wet over dry anytime, but thats not to say that I am right, if you cat chooses the RC over steak then that speaks volumes. BUT RC is one of the best dried foods in my opinion

Sue

LOL! Do it for a dinner party!!! G'wannnn!!!

Probably TMI here but when my first child was born I joked to the midwife that I wanted to take the placenta home and fry it with onions and serve with Chianti - the look of shock and discust on her face was a picture - She believed me

Back to the RC - I was given some freebie RC by the vet when I registered my boys and vaccinated them - snobby grey "Moonshine" loves it - psycho ginger "Kevin" just loves food However, they also stole some leftover cooked cold beef from the Sunday roast so neither of them can be that particular if they eat my cooking lmao!. (I didnt even know they could get on the kitchen counters - needless to say I am more vigilant now!
