BOYCOTT IAMS and others!!!!

Uncaged Campaigns: Against animal testing and experiments

Iams test their pet food on their animals in HORRIFIC conditions.
A recent undercover investigation revealed the digusting ways they test their products...

"

Iams dogs dumped on cold concrete flooring after having huge chunks of muscle cut out of their thighs

dogs and cats gone stir-crazy from confinement; dogs and cats in windowless, dungeon-like buildings

a coworker who instructed her to hit the dogs on the chest if they quit breathing

another coworker who talked about an Iams dog found dead in his cage, bleeding from his mouth

a dog who limped in pain from Lyme disease

cruel studies done by Iams involving sticking tubes down dogs’ throats to force them to ingest vegetable oil

Iams dogs with such severe tartar buildup on their teeth that it was painful for them to eat

vet technicians with inadequate training and experience performing invasive procedures

coworkers who talked about a live kitten who was washed down a drain

coworkers who talked about how they had to go home because the ammonia fumes in the animal trailers were so overpowering that it made their eyes burn (try being one of the animals in those cages!)

cats kept in a cinderblock room with crude wooden “resting” boards that had nails sticking out of them; one of the boards fell on a cat, crushing her to death, while our investigator was there yet the lab director did not remove the boards when the cat was crushed—he removed them when he was told that the lab was going to be inspected because he knew they were illegal.

"

These are just some of the things found. PLEASE VISIT THE SITES ABOVE TO FIND OUT WAYS TO HELP SAVE SO MANY ANIMALS FROM THIS TORTURE.

Brands to Boycott

The main culprits for cruel and unethical animal testing are the major international 'pet' food businesses.

IAMS / Eukanuba owned by Procter & Gamble
Hills Science Diet owned by Colgate Palmolive
The majority of pet food brands available in the UK are produced by two animal testing companies - "Nestlé Purina/Friskies" and "Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc)."

Nestlé Purina/Friskies:

Alpo, Bonio, Felix, Go Cat, Gourmet, Omega Complete, Proplan, Spillers, Vital Balance, Winalot.

Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc):

Bounce, Cesar, Chappie, Frolic, James Wellbeloved, Katkins, Kitekat, Pal, Pedigree Chum, Royal Canin, Sheba, Techni-cal (US & Canada), Whiskas. Pedigree also manufacture Thomas rabbit food and Trill bird food.

NB Techni-Cal (Europe) although not owned by Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc) is still a company to boycott as they have not signed up to the BUAV No Animal Testing Standard.

So far, none of the supermarkets have pledged to produce their foods without unethical testing processes.

Only us, the pet lovers who but these foods can stop this happening, as the only reason they are doing this, is so as they can re-brand their products to make even more blood money.

These companies exist for one reason, and one reason only - to make as much money as possible. They test on animals because of their desire to get new chemical ingredients on to the market. This allows them to claim that their product is ‘new, and improved’, in the hope of increasing sales.

But with many companies producing similar consumer products without carrying out animal tests, it shows that this cruelty is motivated only by greed.

Here are some brands that DO NOT test on animals:

Arden Grange : www.ardengrange.com
Burns : Natural holistic pet food - Burns Pet Nutrition dry and moist dog food, cat and rabbit food.
Europa pet foods ltd - About Europa Pet Foods
Fromm Family Foods available from: Welcome To Postal Pets Products Ledbury Herefordshire
Naturediet : www.naturediet.co.uk
Pero Foods Ltd : Pero Petfoods - Home
Top Number and Happidog
Trophy Pet Food : Trophy Pet Foods

PLEASE BOYCOTT THESE COMPANIES. I DON'T EVEN NEED TO GIVE A REASON WHY- JUST INVESTIGATE FOR YOURSELF.

Thank you. Emma xx

You might want to look at the duplicate of this thread in the dog nutrition section. All is NOT what it seems.

The text above is taken straight from the Uncaged site.

I feel I should point out though, if you are against animal testing as I am then pretty much all of the mainstream brands are owned by companies that test on animals for cosmetics Yet another reason to avoid them.
