Unhappy loose poos

hi everyone,

I got Evie a couple of days ago, and for the last 2 days, her poo has been really runny. Her diet's not been changed, and she seems to have settled in no problem, eating and sleeping fine.

Alfie is still fine, his are normal. I'm just wonderering if there's anything I can do to rectify this problem, as she's quite small, and I dont want her losing too much fluid.

any ideas anyone? She's going to the vet tommorow afternoon with Alfie, so hopefully if its no better by then he can help, but in the meantime, any suggestions are welcome!

Re: loose poos

When i got my kitten a few weeks back she got runny poo as well but cleared up after a couple of days . I just put it down to the stress of new enviroment. You could always just give the vets a ring I know ours are very happy to give advice over phone.Make sure she gets plenty of water and maybe try her with a bit of plain cooked chicken. Sure others will be on in a bit to offer more advice.

haha, I know the feeling. I have 3 litter trays, and Evie decided use the edge of one of them instead of the middle. Needless to say she seemed proud of herself!

Illl try them on some chicken, how should it be cooked? is breast meat ok?

Yeah breast meat will be fine.I had to give chicken 1 of my persians and my vet told me to boil it for him. This also helped to keep it moist so he got fluids as well.Hope this helps a bit . I am only going on experiences with my own cats and what my vet has recommended .

All my cats are different to be honest. The persians will only eat dry food,My old cat will eat both wet and dry and the kitten prefers wet food. I have biscuits down all time for them and give old 1 meat in a morning and at night. I have been mixing kittens biscuits in with her meat she doesnt seemed bothered about dry biscuits at all at min but just keep perservearing with them.Leave the dry food down while your out and you will probably find they will nibble on it when they get hungry. I prefer to give them wet food a couple of times a day and dry all time especially at this time of year as i find if they dont eat it all straight away it goes dry if left down. Hope your kitten is better soon

Re: loose poos

wet food is something like 80/90% water so figures poo will be runnyunless your feeding a better quality meat such as applaws or naturediet.I feed all mine a quality dry diet(royal canin)
