Two adult male cats need a loving home - one pure white male - one pure black male

I'm posting this on behalf of my mother, she has two adult male cats Rocky & Apollo who are brothers, both are castrated, and are up to date with medications such as worming & vaccinations they are coming up to four years old now.

She doesn't want them seperated under any circumstances having to let them go is going to be very hard on her without having to worry about finding homes for them seperately & with the added fact that they are also very close to one another

Rocky is a pure White male & Apollo is a pure Black male, they are both large Tom cats who like their home comforts, both are housecats & very clean they have been very pampered and spoilt, they are not used to dogs which is why I cannot take them myself.
My mother has recently been diagnosed with lung disease & she is also asthmatic over the past months her condition has deteriorated she's realised that being around her lovely cats is making her health much worse, she could cope with being asthmatic & having the cats but combined with the lung disease being around them both is making her very poorly.

We've been in touch with Cats Protection who have said that they would be seperated as one cat is more 'desireable' than the other - stated that they would do so to free up space which of course in hearing that my mother point blank refused to gift her boys to Cats Protection.

Both are really lovely beautiful boys, loving & total fuss pots. If my situation was different I would have pulled her arm off for them but realise my situation with having dogs wouldn't be fair on them at all, in all honesty they would freak, they've never seen a dog & never lived with one. And dispite how patient my own dogs are & the fact that they are used to cats my mother has said no way knowing how they would react & how stressful it would be for them going into a home where dogs are present. They don't get along with other Cats either, they have been tested and didn't react very well at all. They are used to older children we are not too sure about babies as my mother wouldn't give them the chance to get close to my own baby.

She doesn't want any money for them, just the assurance that they would be looked after & loved in a new forever home. She is in the Birmingham area.

There will be quite a few questions put forward to people interested my mother is not prepared to hand them both over willy nilly - she just wants whats best for them both.

If anyone is interested or feels that they would like to offer Apollo & Rocky a home, or has any questions regarding something I may have forgot to mention please PM me. I'll try and get some photo's sent across to put up as soon as possible.

Re: Two adult male cats need a loving home - one pure white male - one pure black mal

Please consider homing them yourself.
I know you have dogs. I have 2 rescue cats that I brought into my 3 doggy household. When I took on my first rescue cat 3 years ago, he was 12 and had never been around dogs, he was petrified as he is a very placid, quiet cat. He hid under a bed for 3 days without food. My 3 dogs and cat scared him to death...however, you should see him now. He is definately top-cat, who rules the dogs! He lies on the floor and tries to play when they walk past!

I got my 2nd cat a week ago today, and he was much better around the dogs, alittle unsure at first of course but now he plays with them and is not a bit bothered!

So, yes they will be unsure at first, but they already know you, so that is one less thing for them to worry about- getting to know the new owner. Cats are scared at first going into new surroundings whether there are dogs there or not. And your dogs are ok with cats which is a great plus, mine are too.

I bet there are loads on this forum who had dogs first when they got their cat. Oh, and if they ended up in a cpl/rspca kennel/foster home, you do know that they will re-home the cats to a house with dogs? My 12 year old was from the rspca, who said 'he has not been around dogs but try him'.

Good luck.

It will work,

Re: Two adult male cats need a loving home - one pure white male - one pure black mal

I couldn't possibly consider homing them myself, as much as I would like to

First instance of them trying to fight off & defend themselves against two dogs I had here they would probably be dead. I don't and never would want to put them in that position, if the were kittens it would be a whole different ball game and not a problem to introduce, also mums being a bit funny as they've never been around a baby - she won't even let them get close to mine.

I'm still waiting on photo's theres something up with mums pc it won't allow her to send emails with attachments, so I'm waiting for my brother to pop some photo's on a memory stick and pop it over when he gets a chance.
