Ultimate Cat Tree

Hi All,

I was wondering if you would help, I have built a few of these for people who have seen ours and said they want one (obviously not for free). I am trying to gauge if people would be interested in them to sell a few?? they are hollow so the cats can run up the middle and are fully covered, they are about 2ft x 2ft and 5" 6 high.

Our cats absolutely love them and I built 2 for personal use, the problem is they are not cheap to make and take 2 days. Let me know if you like them because I have some other weird and wonderfull designs designs my partner wants me to make as well including a kitty jail and all kinds.

all feedback appreciated

I will get some better pictures later........ as well these aren't that good

Re: Ultimate Cat Tree

Hi Bocca,

I have seen these at cat shows they are great. Usually quite expensive lol but I imagine they are pretty labour intensive.

I think yours looks great. I wish I was in the UK because I would definitely be interested. They look very sturdy too which is great because there are so many flimsy ones out there nowadays.

Izzie

Re: Ultimate Cat Tree

That is brilliant! Compared to shop bought ones how expensive is this? The shop bought ones are extortionate prices for what they are.

Oooh I like those, I'd also like to know how much they would be, and I guess shipping won't be cheap either?

Re: Ultimate Cat Tree

Hi Everyone,

thanks for the positive feedback, I made the tree from the one featured in "girls of the playboy mansion" which my partner watches and wanted one. We couldn't find one in the UK so I built one. I regretted the "that looks easy to build" comment I made. We breed cats as well, everyone who sees the tree wants one, so I started saying I can make them if they were interested, turns out theyt were.

They are very very sturdy (which also means heavy) there are NO staples other than under the shelves tucked in. We have had ours for nearly 2 years and it is in the same shape as when i first built it. I am 6ft and 14 stone and go to the gym 4 times a week, I can throw my weight at it and pull on it hard and it is fine, nothing will move or come loose. We have about 4 tramps cat stands and they normally last about 1 year before they end up in the bin ruined which is why I said I could do a better job.

The carpet used is excellent quality, in fact it is better than what is in my house lol...

I have sold the others for £350, the main cost is the carpet you use a lot more than you initially think... I could do them for around £300 if i am buying more materials than for the odd one. But this is the point I am trying to figure out how best to do it, I have found them on an american website and they are $580 which is around £350, it so happens so I can't be 100 miles off with the price. I am trying to find out if that is too much (which I know some people will say it is) if it is, I need to "try" and cut build time which I don't want to do because these things will last forever at the moment and I think that is more important than saving £50.

as for delivery that is to be investigated, mostly thus far it has been collection (when getting kitten) or if local, I deliver it.... I do need to look into alternatives if I am planning to do a few.

Anyway let me know but thanks for the feedback thus far.... I will get some better pictures and post them.

thanks in advance.....
