CPNewcastle is on a distinguished road
Re: Looking for a kitten

Having read your post, I am not keen to respond.

And rescues will be put off homing a kitten to your daughter when the first one was killed.

I am not judging here, but I am trying to explain why no one is responding.

A kitten has to be kept indoors till the age of neutering. So that means 5 - 6 months. Now of course we dont know what age the kitten was that was killed.

If there are main roads close by, then she will need to consider an indoor cat. A kitten is not streetwise, and these days when we home cats and kittens, how close the house is to a main road is a major consideration, when traffic keeps increasing.

If she contacts a rescue, then she will have a home visit and will be advised on how to keep the kitten safe etc., but she will be expected to offer a donation. That is done both to keep the funding going in order for rescues to keep on doing the work they do, plus to show a commitment from the new owner, as Vet Bills these days can be expensive.

So I would advise you to contact any of the local rescues, although I must warn you that kitten season seems to have dipped at the moment, and kittens are not as plentiful as they were a month or so ago.

Re: Looking for a kitten

she wasn't a kitten she was a fully grown cat,she didnt usually wonder, but someone/something must of scared her as the road was a fair way from the house, she only knew she had been knocked over after putting posters up as someone phoned her to let her know, the photos are her when she was a kitten as we didnt have any recent photos

I have stated on ads that she would become and indoor cat, then i got emails saying it would be cruel to keep her in,seems we cant win here

I hope you manage to find a kitten. My kitten died about a year ago and i believe he was hit by a car. And for those who want to judge me, he was only 4 and a half months old at the time. Ive always allowed my cats out in the past but since his death i have kept his brother as an indoor cat. Dont be put off im sure one will come along.

Re: Looking for a kitten

Thx hun, just because accidents happen, doesnt mean you shouldn't be allowed to have another kitten/cat does it.my daughter loved her as i got her (kitten) when my daughter was 8 weeks pregnant she used to sit on her bump and loved when the baby kicked, she was heartbroken when she got the phonecall, its been 3 years since the accident, and thought it would be nice to try and find her a similar kitten,Ive told her not to hold her breath though as there may never be another cat like her,ive never seen any

I totally agree and i for one dont judge people. There's no guarantees in life and as you say, accidents happen.
The kitten in that pic is adorable...if i see of any going i will certainly let you know. Dont give up hope though. Have you also put a wanted advert on this sites other site? Pets4Homes ....It cant hurt to try...the more places you advertise on the better chance you stand of getting one.
Here's the link.
