Re: For all the Raw feeders out there

Well the moggy absolutely loves it - having to mix tiny amounts for Minnii in with her normal food - hopefully she will get used to it. Anyone got any tips to help her?

Re: For all the Raw feeders out there

I'm beginning to think I have a pair of abnormal cats - My two appear to want to eat anything! I can't imagine having to try and encourage them to eat raw!
Logi tries to jump into the freezer whenever we open it now because the blocks of meat are in there. Weeks ago he ate mud-covered carrot peelings, last week it was half a pack of rich tea biscuits, and this week he's attempted uncooked frozen chips and tea!

(so sorry I haven't got any tips - other than to keep mixing the food they like in with the raw and increase bit by bit)

Re: For all the Raw feeders out there

Mine arrived exactly when expected -thanks Karen.

We have different opinions at the moment, some went straight in ,no problems and there are others that sniffed around it and walked off,but pehaps I havent hit on the variety yet that everyone likes.

But the one I wanted to eat it ,who is 16 and had started to lose weight ,not through ill health, seems to have picked up his appetite again ,so great stuff.

Re: For all the Raw feeders out there

You have to remember that cats are too independant and if they don't what to eat something they will just wait until you give in. Unlike dogs you cannot force a cat to eat something by starving it. They need a regular intake of vitamins and minerals so no food for over 24hrs is not recomended.

It's all about trial and error, persistance and persuasion. Some cats will like one meat type and not others, some cats will need to be weaned over by adding small amounts of raw to their regular meals and gradually increasing the quantities, some have to be fooled by sprinkling treats over the food or searing the outside of the meat in a frying pan gradually reducing the cooking over time.
