Hi all,

The neighbour of a friend of mine currently has three 8 week old kittens but doesn't want them. Rather than give them to the RSPCA (where they are overcrowded as it is) I would like to take them myself, as I love animals and would keep all three together.

However, I can't have them in the home I am in at the moment. My friend and I are currently looking fo a place but it will take one month, two at the most, before we have found one and are moved in. My friend and I have discussed the kittens, by the way, and he wants to take them in too.

I rang CPL and they are unable to help unless they were adopting them out to someone. What I'm hoping to find it someone who is willing to take in three kittens for, at the most, two months - care for them while we have nowhere for them to go, than give them back to us when we have moved in to our new place.

The kittens are currently in Nottingham and obviously that would be the most convenient for us. However, we don't mind the kittens going to msot places in England. Our main problem is that neither of us can drive and we are nopt keen on putting the kittens through a train journey - they have already been through so much.

Please do get in touch if you can help. As I said, it really would be very short term - we just need a roof over thier head where they will get proper care and a garuntee we can take them when we have our place.

I had this same problem last week. I rehomed an 8 month old kitty and when I got her to my shared house, we realised one of my housemates was allergic to her.

I called a local college (who specialise in animal sciences) and one of their lecturers agreed to look after her for 8 weeks until I move into my new house.

I would suggest calling any local colleges/universities with departments that specialise in animal sciences. I would also e-mail or call any local catteries and see if they could house the 3 kittens in the same pen...if you buy all of their food and toys etc, the cattery may reduce the price at which they could stay. The cheapest quote I had for a cattery in Preston was £4.50 a day if I supplied the food.

The RSPCA will only put cats into foster with view to permanent rehoming.

Could your friend not look after them for a few weeks until you move? You could agree to go around there and feed them etc and play with them.

Or ask other friends and family?
