Question for siamese owners...........
...................When I started breeding Persians, I started with colourpoints. Which were derived from Siamese colours. What I would like to ask is do Siamese cats get shading of their colour on their backs after a few years? I have a blue/cream point Persian, my first cat, who has a lot of blue colouring on her back now whereas when she was younger and being shown she was pure white on her back. Does the same happen with Siamese cats????

Re: Question for siamese owners...........
siamese colourpoints are born pure white , i dont know if thats the same for persian colour points then the colder bits develop colour arfter a few weeks aparantly in hotter countries it takes longer ............ i have noticed my 6month choc point slightly creaming on her back , seal points get quite dark on ther back with age

Re: Question for siamese owners...........
Sounds similar, colourpoint persians are like little white mice when first born and do not develop colour til about 6 weeks. The shading on Crystal's back at 7 years old tho is quite intensive

Re: Question for siamese owners...........
The coat shading is supposed to be heat sensitive. Worst for shading are seals and blues, but you can limit it by cooking them under a pig lamp apparently. Some lines do produce wonderfully clear coats in all colours but they seem to be few and far between nowadays.
