Tobycatlover is on a distinguished road
Returning cats/kittens

OK, another one.

What would you do as a kitten buyer if you bought a kitten from a breeder and it just did not get on with a cat you already had, to the degree where it was so aggressive it was beating your old cat up? Would you put up with it and keep them living apart all the time? Would you rehome your original cat?Would you go back and ask the breeder to take it back? And what if you asked the breeder to take it back and they refused?

On the other hand, if you are a breeder and this happened what would you do? Would you tell the owner to get on with it or give it more time? Would you take it back immediately? And if you took it back would you offer them another? And if you didn't take it back what would you do? Would you try to help to find it a home or would you just leave them to it?

Toby

Re: Returning cats/kittens

I state in my contract given to the new owners that if they are no longer able to keep the kitten or cat for whatever reason then they have to offer the cat back to me.
I certainly would not want to see any of my cats passed around or offered to just anyone.

As far as Im aware all responsible breeders will have this clause in their agreements.

I would never rehome my original cat last one in first one out at this house im afraid,
I have never bought from a kitten breeder but i imagine they would have a contract like a puppy breeder x
