Unhappy Gccf Prefix rejected - ideas please !

Well I finally heard from the Gccf today that my prefix has been rejected as it is too close to someone elses.

My Prefix choice was 'SUNGOLD' which I already have registered with Tica.

I didn't really want to have a different one for Gccf & Tica.

I could decide to only register all my litters with Tica as 2 of my queens are already reg with Tica. I would just have to transfer my stud & 2 queens.

Would you just not bother with Gccf or can you think of a suitable name?

Does anyone have the current list for Gccf prefixes? If so can you let me know the prefix I am too close to?
Tica have a list you can download but GCCF require £20 for a copy (which I feel is a bit of a rip off!)

The lady I need to speak to at GCCF isn't in again until Monday so I thought I would rethink the name & run it by her to see if thats ok or forget the whole thing & save myself £60 (this could go towards dual reg my other cats)

Oh what a bother & yes it's still raining

Hi Christina, To be honest if you've already got a prefix with TICA I would just leave it. If anyone who bought a kitten wants to show GCCF then they can always transfer the kitten themselves.

I'd keep your options open Christina and still register with both. Do you have to pay the 60 quid again though, I wouldnt have thought so?

It depends on whether you wanted to be more active at GCCF shows Christina. If you did, then it would be worthwhile finding out which name you were closest to and find an acceptable alternative spelling of Sungold that would be different enough for GCCF.

If the palavar is just too much and you were not going to show at GCCF then no need to register with them or put your breed prefix with them either. Anyone who has one of your kittens would then need to register the kitten themselves.

I'd rather keep the money for other things - your breed prefix/cattery name is already registered with a well recognised registering body. A lot of people know yours as a good name so no need to worry.

Christina, if you decide not to bother, just ask for your cheque back. They ought to return it since they have not give you your prefix.

I'd still go for dual registration Christina, but its up to you at the end of the day. I know Tica is good but you ask your average kitten buyer which governing body they have heard of and I bet most say gccf. It would leave you open with both options of showing under either too

We are showing our boy under Gccf so perhaps we will have to find an alternative spelling or worse case senario one that is completely different.

Thanks for the complement - it's much appreciated

Suggestions on a postcard please

Information that may inspire you, I breed Bengals my surname is Walker

Re: Gccf Prefix rejected - ideas please !

Im sure you will come up with something suitable.

I had some fun with mine Asassynz that had to go to the executive council because someone decided to object when the requested prefix was published in Our Cats

I appealed and won.
