Hi, thought i'd do an update
Gemma and Sparkle are getting on great. As soon as Sparkle comes in from outside, Gemma starts talking and comes out from under the bed. She is still very wary and hates it if she knows someone is between her and the bed, so if shes in the kitchen and she hears someone on the stairs, she runs like lightening up the stairs and under the bed. But if shes standing in the bedroom doorway, then she'll stay put while you walk round upstairs.
What was lovely yesterday was, it was sunny in the kids bedroom and there was a huge sunny warm patch on the carpet, so Gemma ventured out and slept almost in the middle of the floor

When I walked in later, she let me open the wardrobe and put some stuff away, and only decided it was too much for her when I left the room and returned with a few more things.
It's quite normal now to see her once (or if your lucky, twice) during the daytime too, she might not always make it to the kitchen for food, but she can be seen sitting at the top of the stairs. If shes under the bed and you put your hand out to her (with your fingers tucked in) she'll come over to you and push her head against your knuckles, then you can stroke her

and she loves it and purrs

It's so frustrating, you just want to grab her and give her a hugeeeeeeeeeeee hug
At night time, she knows its food time. She comes down the stairs and is coping better with the noises from the older kids getting ready for bed, shes a bit jumpy and runs back to the bottom of the stairs and then back to the kitchen lots of times, but loves her food. Last night they both had some "proper" chicken, up till now Gemma wouldn't try it, but she sniffed her plate, then Sparkles just to check they had the same, then took a small piece off her plate, ran back a few feet, then scoffed it

i know it was only a piece of chicken but up till now shes only had cat food and left anything different we've offered her.
At night we can hear them playing, Gemma loves to be chased

One problem is, when she pulls herself along with her claws on the carpet

. When Sparkle does it she gets told off, but with Gemma no way can we tell her off, so we have to try to distract her.
Last night when the younger two kids had gone to bed, Sparkle went to sleep at the top of the stairs like she does

and Gemma curled up just a few inches away from her. So now we have two cats trying to trip us up on the stairs.
So there we are, its lovely to see her slowly feeling more secure, shes very eager to come in the lounge and dining room, but at the moment she just stands at the door way with huge eyes.
