Wouldn't like to think so, she was at the rescue centre since last October so if this was the case, people would have had a long time to claim her. They scan them when they are taken in I think, and they check they are chipped before they go to new homes. It was a Cats Protection centre so you would hope they are ran correctly.

Whatever her story is, you can tell she hasn't had a good start in life and I just hope we're making her life happier.

I'm sure everything possible was done to return Gemma to her rightful owners if needed but it could've been that they couldnt keep her anymore
