Re: Gemma is slowly coming round

Hi, had lots of internet and computer problems lately so haven't been on here much

Well Gemma still lives under the bed! But at night once she has Sparkle with her, shes like a different cat. She runs out as soon as she hears Spark come in, even waits by the kitchen door sometimes when I'm calling Spark in for the night Still very jumpy, always on alert, if one of the kids walks in the kitchen while shes eating, she runs 100mph up the stairs. Shes not that jumpy with me, think she relates me with food and water.

It's quite normal now to see both cats lying in the middle of the landing, side by side. Glad Gemma has patches of white on her as we can just about make her out in the dark, can't see Sparkle as shes a dark tabby. They have even started cautiously grooming each other. We've noticed Sparkle can still be quite grumpy, last night Gemma tried to eat from her bowl and whereas other times Spark just lets her, last night she growled and hit her Gemma just retreats and comes back later.

The other advance she seems to have made is, she has the urge to want to play. A couple of times shes ran after a toy, almost forgets herself for a few seconds, then shes off again, 100mph under the bed!

We looked at the calendar the other night as we couldn't remember how long we have had her, seems like forever, actually it was June 10th. Shes come such a long way in that time, and we feel that in another months time she should have made so much more progress too.

Not sure if you know this but thought I'd mention it as its very positve but when a cat does the rolly about lookig flirty thing its like their way of making friends and saying ''hello lets be mates'' lol. x

I got a rescue at the age of 4 and she sounds exactly like gemma but she was the only cat in the house at the time, it took her about 3 months to act like a normal cat but she got there.
It seems like your doing wonders with gemma hun well done

This sounds as if the rescue centre gave you a cat that was actually microchipped and therefore could have been returned to her owners. Please tell me this is not the case!
