Re: What to use?
I would reccomend you just comb her thourghly until you can get a suitable shampoo as if kitty washes herself after a bath she may ingest something that may harm her, is there a Pets at home near you? they usually open 7 days a week...

Re: What to use?
Hi Jem, don't know what you have used previously for the flea treatment, but I don't believe shampoos or pet shop products work. It really has to be a vet treatment like frontline, advocate or I personally have preferred Stronghold in the past.
I understand that with it being weekend it may not be so easy to get hold of, but did I hear rightly the other day that Pets at Home have started selling Frontline over the counter? May be worth checking out if they do and have Sunday opening. As for bathing your cat, plain water would be a waste of time. Adult shampoo could be too harsh for the skin but I have used baby shampoo on mine in the past for baths. If you have any it may prove a temporary solution to the itching, but I'm not sure whether it will be worth putting your cat through the stress of a bath for what will not be a permanent solution. Also when you can get to a vets ask for a product such as 'Staykill' which if they still make it, is very affective for killing any stray biddies around the home. You just spray around the skirtings in any affected rooms. Again pet shop sprays are naff. I had a problem around 6 years ago and the critters got in every room in the house. I spent a fortune on pet shop carpet sprays and none worked. Staykill got the rid of the problem immediately and they never came back either. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: What to use?
Me personally, i wouldn't use anything on my babies unless it is 100% safe, i do understand you must be freaking about fleas, but i would comb the bu**ers out and squash them between my nails, then treat with frontline combi, as it will help kill any fleas in the house aswell...
