Exclamation In need of advice For a stressed cat

My daughter deiced that it was time to adopt form a local shelter. All our lives she and I (her mom) have had cats, Dogs, Birds, Reptiles. Etc. My daughter is 20 and wanted to save more cats.
We adopted 3 cats all together My son picked one out, My daughter found a Huge 20 lbs cat and I picked out a very fury himilain looking female cat.
We had to leave her to get her fixed before she came home. How My sons cat is outgoing and thinks he rules the roost The 3 females we all ready had told him other wise so it seems they have split the house but Angelia Is a whole other story.
Angelia has not gotten up from where we put her in 5 days we have started giving her water and some soft cat food all of it rejected I tried tuna and various other things she will not eat at all. She will not use the litter she refuses to get up form the spot we put her in , Now I'm worried and called the vet but was wondering if there is anything that I can do other than giver her time to adjust.

Re: In need of advice For a stressed cat

my new kitty is doing exactly the same at the minute except if i give her food under the sofa where she is she will eat and she doesnt use the tray till we have gone to bed , i tried crating her but she mioawed so loudly to get out my oh let her out , so now she is back under the sofa

so im the same i dont know why she wont come from under the sofa im just thinking give her time , she has the vets tuesday so i will see what he says .

but i know exactly how you feel especially when i have another who has ruled the roost ever since i got him and settled straight in

guess all cats are different though .

Re: In need of advice For a stressed cat

Could be she is a bit intimated by all the other cats; try a couple of Feliway plug in diffusers. Leave out some dry cat food all the time with a large bowl of water but try her on something strong smelling perhaps like sardines in tomato sauce etc. Make sure she has places to hide - somewhere high or a cardboard box etc. If she hasn't used the litter tray though for five days I would definitely get her to the vet.

Keep us updated.

Re: In need of advice For a stressed cat

she is way intimidated by the other cats but we have separated her from the rest of the house. She is going to vet today if anything I know my vet can get her to the point where she at least is hydrated , She needs antibiotics also. seems she has upper respitory.

As far as the cat under the couch I had one of them lol she is a Persian took her 3 months to acomidate her self to the rest of the house. she would sneek out of the bedroom at night and eat and drink when no one is watching come do find out she choose my daughter as her owner My daughter comes home from collage and Maxine Perks up and mereeeww at her constantly. Now she is up and out and just ignores the people in the house.
