New litter tray

I am considering getting a closed litter tray for Dorrie as she makes a right mess with her open one and sometimes she doesn't always dig her doins over and you can get a whiff of it.
How do I introduce it if I do get her one? Do I just put it in the same spot or what?

Re: New litter tray

we changed oakleys tray to a closed one. we just put it in the same place as his old one and he used it straight away with no problems or hesitation. your cat might be different i think you will just have to try it and see what happens.

Re: New litter tray

Try putting the new tray in the same place as the old, with the cover on but the door off. Once it's being used OK for a few days, put the door on. That's how we got ours used to a closed tray and they've all been great with it.
