In bed, on bed or outside bedroom

Some of my babies spend a bit of time under the duvet and then on top, some of them just go on top of the duvet and some prefer to sleep on the chair next to the bed. Others spend time outside the bedroom as they are just too active and I cannot sleep with them cavorting about all through the night.

Having five cats, two of whom are queens, does make a difference, hence the arrangements. Those who are very active at night (usually the young queens and sometimes Harley) must sleep in the cat nursery and those who can be quiet (the older, spayed girls and sometimes Harley) can come in with me. I do have a water bowl in my room and the ones who are quieter tend not to want to do much except sleep. They will eat and use the tray in the morning so no need to keep those in the bedroom.

If I just had one or two, I would dearly love to have them in the bedroom with me, door wide open, and let them decide if they want to sleep on the bed, under the duvet or anywhere else.

Anyone else want to say how their cats prefer to arrange their humans?

Re: In bed, on bed or outside bedroom

Alfie sleeps on the end of the bed near our feet and Lola prefers to sleep under the duvet!

Normally wake up with both of them sleeping in between us on top of the duvet!

I like having them sleeping in my room as they always want to be near us and would cry if we left them out! Although it can be a little tricky if me and the OH are doing the romance dance! ha ha ha

Re: In bed, on bed or outside bedroom

Well Naobi,Trinity and Gaia sleep outside and Rosie and Angel are with their babies downstairs in their kitten room-so it works out well for us and on occasion Rosie has slept with us and tends to get under the duvet with her head on the pillow for a while and then gets out to cool down across my head or face and then around 3ish wants to play

Re: In bed, on bed or outside bedroom

Sylvester my old and now dead Maine Coon used to snuggle up under the duvet between us - then he would get out being too hot then in again.

The 2 new MCs: the female sleeps on the catrix cat tree slung bed - the male sleeps on the bean bag on the landing but then wakes and comes and nuzzles me with a very cold wet nose - he paddy paws then may settle on top of the duvet between us.

The female wakes us up by walking up our bodies and down again - she may settle at the bottom of the bed.

However as they are new things may change.....also as it gets colder

5 of ours sleep downstairs, 1 upstairs she sleeps on our Autistic sons bed. It got silly with them all bounding up & down the stairs, across the beds ect. The kids just were'nt getting any sleep. They have the dining room & play room to do what they like in all night, lol. Now we have the kittens too, it's a constant riot, lol.

Ours sleep downstairs too - now and again I let them stay in the bedroom but end up taking them downstairs early hours as they mooch about too much

Same here, our two sleep downstairs, if they are allowed upstairs we wake up in the middle of the night to our feet being attacked.

Re: In bed, on bed or outside bedroom

Our cat who we lost last month slept on top of our bed, day or night, and always on my side! Had to shift her over when I wanted to go to bed.

Our tabby always sleeps on top of the bed between me and OH, its really nice to hear her come running up the stairs to bed

At the moment, our new addition is very shy so we close the utility door until shes confident enough to venture round. I'd love it if she joined us too!

Don't like them actually under the duvet, although sometimes our cat decides she wants to go under Shes also got the habit of biting our heads if she wants something and we're not paying her any attention!!!!
