Question Registrations

If you buy a kitten and the breeder is registered to Tica, how long will it take to be registered and get the paperwork back? I know I have to register the kitten again with the GCCF to enter her in a GCCF show, so Iam trying to work out "how long all this is going to take"
Can anyone help?

Re: Registrations

Last year, mine took about a couple of days by email to TICA and the paperwork followed in the post - allow fourteen days for snail mail from Texas once you have the email.

However, my own babies were registered with GCCF and the sires were GCCF so I had to get the pedigrees of the sires signed by the breeder when I registered my kittens and registered my queens as well. This makes it take a little longer. I also had to register with a TICA club and get that sorted. Still, once done, it can be quicker than GCCF. Payment can be done by PayPal and all paperwork by email.

Actually, thinking again, I would really allow three full weeks just to be on the safe side. You can always send them an email enquiring how long they estimate it should take.

Re: Registrations

Hi again Janet - ok I guess you have to be patient. Suggest two to three weeks - could be sooner but if you allow more time, you won't be disappointed.

Re my earlier post, when I said "babies" I was also talking about adults/ queens who were originally registered with GCCF so I meant their kittens and the queens. Because the kittens were sired by toms who are registered with GCCF and not with TICA, I had to jump through a few extra hoops which you may not have to worry about since your breeder is with TICA anyhow so you may already have the necessary information.

Hope it all goes smoothly.

If you want to enter a GCCF show, you don't have to wait for the registration papers to come back before hand. I think the rule says your application for registration or transfer has to have been in the GCCF office 21 days prior to the day of the show. Then when you enter the show put RAF (Registration Applied For) in the box where you should put the registration number. Then when your registration form arrives inform the show manager of the number.

Probably yes, not 100% sure, but I will see if I can find out for you. Are both parents TICA registered and not GCCF registered?
