Re: Smokers vs non smokers

What about the other side of the coin that hasent been mentioned yet!

A question for the non-smoker breeders on here

Would you or have you bought a cat/kitten from a breeder that smokes?

2 of my 3 Queens are from a smoking breeder, though they don't smoke in the house

Re: Smokers vs non smokers

Some interesting answers coming in that show the smokers as being caring and responsible owners

This thread is very interesting as it has brought things to the surface that might not have been considered before and as someone has already mentioned it is up to each breeder to consider their own criteria for rehoming. That is their right as the breeder.

A buyer would also be within their rights to ask whether a kitten was brought up in a smoking/non smoking home and I was wondering whether anyone on here had actually been asked this.

Re: Smokers vs non smokers

I have never smoked....
My better half has smoked about 30 a day since he was a teen..
but I can live with it..
He goes out or stands by the back door..
I would home kittens with a smoker, no probs..
If cats dont like something - they move out of the way, pretty quickly
and yes, I would buy from a smoker... as long as the 'set up' at the home was clean..

This is becausebreaking news..i don't thinkWe and many others are responsible, caring etc and no we haven't ever been asked because our kittens speak for themselves and to be honest any potential new kitten slave is welcome to ask, querie anything they like but the fact of the matter is as always..it is they who are under scrutiny and being as thoroughly vetted as possible not the other way around ,also imo if your on the level as a breeder/person then it shows in your home, cattery,cats/kitts

Re: Smokers vs non smokers

I personally think not selling a kitten to someone because they smoke is over the top, i was a smoker until 5 years ago and i think the smoking bans are a bit harsh, just because someone is a smoker does'nt make them a bad owner

Too right it dont
Im fed up though with some people who continuously enjoy having a pop at the smokers especially when they start with their imaginary coughing fits 150 metres away.

When this happens out of my handbag comes a nice big fat man size cigar .... and the look on their faces ...... PRICELESS

Meezers is it true that even though you gave up the fags some years ago you can still get a craving for one now and again?
