Horrible experience with cats and birds!

Just had a horrid experience with my cats! I just stepped out the back door to get the washing in and there was a smallish crow on the patio, it maybe had flown into the window or something - Toby and Binx ran out and attacked it! I tried to get them off it, screaming like an idiot but Binx grabbed it and jumped over the fence Toby hot on his heels.. There was about seven huge crows swooping down onto the garden going nuts, it was like a hitchcock movie! I feel SO bad, the cats don't go out that much and just stay in the garden but guess instinct got the better of them. Luckily I kept little Tiggy in, she's so small they may of attacked her! Now just waiting for the bad boys to come back for a telling off........

You can't tell them off for following their instincts. Alvey brought a bird in today and ate it on the scratch post! Such lovely animals.

You can't tell them off really, they won't know what they've done when they come back. Sadly thats the hard part of owning cats that go outside

Lovely!

At least ours have started eating them now, doesn't seem such a waste of life when they eat what they kill!

Re: Horrible experience with cats and birds!

I couldnt stand Jasper my last cat bring live birds, mice, rats etc home to eat. I would make him drop it and hubby gave the creature a second chance which really was just as cruel as letting Jasper finish it off so to speak.

I didnt tell him off even though I felt like it. I could understand the survival thing but he was well fed. Jasper once brought a hen home now that was difficult to deal with.
