Cat leads -successful?

Have any of you trained your cat to walk on a leash?

What do you do when walking your cat? How hard was it to train?

Re: Cat leads -successful?

Mine used to but because in the day he goes out, he will not let me put one on him. If i do he just sits down and won't move. He's not lazy, just hates being told what to do

Re: Cat leads -successful?

I think it is not a good idea to use a leash with a cat. Cats are independant creatures and most cats dislike it.

But this may not be the case for some cats. I would give it a go but it would look pretty weird if you walked a cat to the park!!

yes Alfie walks on a lea really well, he loves it!

But it's only for when I take him into the garden.. wouldn't ever just take him for a walk.. there' too many people who let their dogs off the lead... God that annoys me!

Re: Cat leads -successful?

Our boy cat has always liked to come on walks with our dogs, but I often worried he might wander off. So we bought him a harness and he loves it, just acts as he normally would, but I now have a little bit more control over him. Of course, some people laugh and think I look crazy, but I prefer it. Plus he does look good in it, don't ya think?

Re: Cat leads -successful?

Hi,

He looks great and he looks like he enjoys it. How easy is it to train them on a harness, I have never tried to be honest but have just bought a really nice set for when we move abroad.

He is a gorgeous cat btw.

Jo
