Re: leaving pets..
I have only just come across this and hope that I am not out of order, putting my oar in.
I am afraid that nobody could agree with leaving 5 week old kittens alone, with someone coming in only twice a day! The trouble is, that like small children, kittens are still babies and are too dependent on you, as well as their Mum at that age, for it even to be an option. I am very aware that although I personally would not do it, people have left their fully grown cats for a couple of days at a time, with feeders and no apparent harm has come to the cats. However, I don't think you would come back to live kittens, if you did decide to do what you are suggesting. I'm sorry, but there it is. I think that all you can do is to approach either CPL or even your vet, to see if there is some way round it, because those kittens most certainly should not be left with only sketchy care, for that amount of time.
