Re: leaving pets..

i have all the cats wormed and de flee'd im not worried about the cost of it .. its just £540 for someone to watch the cats for 11 nights is abit much when ive just forked out 2000 for a holiday thats self catering like i said its all bad timing.. everyone had to learn some where.. and i m hoping to learn from all of u....

MOST of you have been a good help , but there just some who arent reading the full post then judging me for apparently not being able to look after my pets...
ive openly admitted i need advice and im not the best person for having them but im trying.. im on here asking advice and taking everything people say into consideration...

please dont judge me if you dont know me.... im not keeping these kittens they will all be re homed free of charge and are al going to good homes.. as soon as these kittens are gone im getting mine by sorted out and then there will be no more kittens lol but till then i need advice and help through this situation...
and i would be soo ever greatful if you could all help me out x

automatic feeders to feed the cats thats what the are for

and someone needs to fill them up every day..!!

my father in law is coming at about 5am when he leaves for work.. and then coming back at about 7pm... everyday x

please if u have nothing productive to say dont say it... im not here to get affend or insulted... im simply asking for advice.?
if u cant give any nice advice please dont leave any x
We're trying our best here to be very patient and give you advice

Please think about it....would you leave your children for 11 days with someone popping it at 5am, then 7pm!! With just some food left in the fridge to help themselves too. Thats no different from leaving tiny kittens with feeders all day. As Kat said, kittens need at lot of care, love and regular kitten/raw meat aswell as the biscuits. You've said you don't know what you're doing, please listen to our advice. The cats /kittens come before your holiday.

Re: leaving pets..

Sorry but my point about automatic feeders musta come across wrong, why use an automatic feeder at all???

I leave food down all day long for my cats, they help them selves when they want. I personally wouldn't waste my money on a gadget(my opinion)

Re: leaving pets..

Try phoning your local cats protection, explain your situation and say you want the cats - they want the best for all these animals as do you - they will not take them away - they find it hard enough rehoming as it is.
They may have a foster carer locally who will take them whilst you're away.

i leave buscuits and food done all day.. but i dont want my father in law to leave some food down and the mum eat it all then them starve till 7pm every night .. so ive told him to set them for 11am 2pm 5pm 7pm incase he is late that way they have fresh food out every couple of hours xxx

cos everyday he will come over at 5ish to sort them out for us.. and he dont leave for work till 7am so he wil stay there with them for a ocuple of hours before he leaves for work x

Thats good, what you've said. You do sound like you genuinly care for your cats....but thats not the issue. I wish I lived nearer cause I would have them in my isolation room for you, but you are way away from me.

We are very loving cat owners, but a lot of us breed and show, our cats are very special to us, thats not to say nobody elses who has cats that don't breed ect are.
You can't just go away and leave animals to fend for themselves. especially very young ones. If a kitten has a problem it can die within a matter of hours!!
I'm sorry but just cause others do it, does'nt make it right.

thats a good idea, i dont mind paying for them but home ran catteries cost between £540 - £600 round here for 11 nights and i just cant afford that much at the second.. i didnt plan on having at least 9 of them lol 2 is fine lol but nine a different story lol

So why not just leave extra food down?
Surely if mum is that hungry she will eat the food as soon as the timer goes off, before kittens get a chance??

Some of us are also breeders who put 200% of our love, effort, time, and heartache into raising our babies. We do things like feeding babies every 2 hours day and night for the first 3 weeks of their lives when there is a problem. What we don't do is leave babies on their own while someone pops in to feed them twice a day. Regardless of whether your cat is a moggie or pedigree, and regardless of whether you are a pet owner or breeder, babies need constant supervision. You have chosen to accept responsibility for these children by accepting their pregnant mother into your home. This means that like your own "human" children, the babies come first. It really is that simple.
