Re: leaving pets..
I know your situation as I am not that old myself with two young children - it is very difficult. You probably adore the cats but at the end of the day if you can not afford to give the cat the care it needs you are inadvertently being cruel.
You may have to accept that it's in at least one of these cats best interests to find it a new home or hand it in to rescue. It's honestly the last thing I'd like to advise anyone to do and I know it's hard but sometimes the hardest decision is the best one. If you want any advice on finding her a nice place I'm sure there may be people on here who can help and advise.

Re: leaving pets..
I'm sorry but I think you'll find it is - any responsible owner would not have let this happen - they would've known the sex of the original cat and had it spayed - pets are actually a serious commitment. Your first post was related to being unable to afford to take your cat to the vet.
I am very sorry that you are upset by what I have said but that's how I feel.

No I would'nt advise people getting rid of cats because they can't afford them, but most(not all) people would look at their finances ect 1st. Also look into the ins and outs of keeping cats. They need, worming, speying/neutering, ect. It's not cheap at all. It's nice that you took a cat off the street, bit can you really afford to keep 2 and bring up all the kittens ? You chose to get the one from the pet shop....not that i'd advise getting one from there anyway, as you now know to your cost sadly, they don't know what they're doing. As long as they get money for the cat thats all that matters! I think you are going to have to ask for help from a cat charity, because no matter what, you can't leave kittens behind with feeders and someone popping in occasionally, it's just not fair. I would rather go without a holiday, than do this. In fact last year we did go without |

Re: leaving pets..
I do agree with Emily that the only option is to see if someone like CPL will take on mum and the babies. It would be different if you had someone who could stay in your home for the 11 days but from what you've said, that isn't possible. Babies truly do need an awful lot of love and care and an automatic feeder is no good at all because babies of that age need a minimum of 4-5 wet meals (commercial and home cooked) per day. At the end of the day all that matters is the babies' and mum's welfare. Someone visiting just twice a day is simply not enough I'm afraid.
