Re: Can you tell how many weeks a cat is from looking at her

Unless you know the exact time of mating, you won't know for sure. Cats can go up to 70 days gestation.
The cat that has the kittens now, was huge even 2 weeks before she was due, she could hardly walk and could'nt turn round clean herself. She had 7 babies! Sadly was was stillborn, it was so huge it got stuck, we had to rush her to the vets.
Vets are not normally wrong in knowing how far along a cat is.

No, I don't believe you can tell how long a cat has to go just by looking at (although I'm sure others on here might say the opposite lol). We have had some queens who get very large early on and by 6 weeks into the pregnancy, they look the same as a queen who is 8 1/2 weeks into the pregnancy. By the same token we've had girls who still look small at 8 1/2 weeks. All cats are different. You can tell when they are getting close to going into labour though because they "drop".

Re: Can you tell how many weeks a cat is from looking at her

She's about average i'd say. My gorl was bigger than that, so I would'nt worry. She could hold on too, if what you say about the cats fighting ect. A cat won't give birth where it's not safe and they feel threatened and stressed. They need peace & quiet

Re: Can you tell how many weeks a cat is from looking at her

I would'nt like to say to be honest, cats go to 9 weeks. The same as a human, they are all different, depends on the cat & how many babies she is carrying. She definately looks pregnant, lol. Thats about all I can say really.

Re: Can you tell how many weeks a cat is from looking at her

A cat's gestation period is 65 days although they can go over by a few days. For your cat to have become pregnant in March it would had to have been during the last week in March.
