Thumbs up Grooming

How often do you groom your cats if you do?

My cat just hates brushes or a comb. I can only do it when he's fast a sleep or not playfull.

Re: Grooming

To be honest, I rarely ever groom ours, not even before a show. We have Orientals and Siamese which are shorthair breeds. When I do groom them, I use a grooming mitt because I find that combs/brushes tend to damage the hair on the short coats.

Re: Grooming

I do mine once a week if I get a chance, not out of necessity but because they all loved being brushed with a very soft brush, especially their cheeks

Re: Grooming

I voted once a week, but that's on average, I've got a dlh and a dsh - the long hair gets brushed quite a bit, the dsh only when he's asleep and I feel like it tbh.

Re: Grooming

I put once a week, though they are checked over everyday. To be honest a Norwegian Forests coat is pretty self maintained.....well there's nobody to groom them in the Forests of Norway so they have to be, lol.
The beginning of the warmer weather is the worst, cause they moult for England when they get going. They loose their beautiful ruffs too
It's just keeping an eye for the knots that occur really. They get extra grooming, nails trimmed ect before a show

Re: Grooming

I put not at all because my cats are so far beautiful without - if they looked like they needed a brush they'd get one - and Star loves those plastic massage type groomers.
It's so occasional though that I had to choose that option.
