Unhappy open sore after using bob martin de wormer?

hi, it came round to time to worm the cat and we picked up the wrong one to what we usually use, its was bob martins spot on de wormer. put it on the cats neck like the instructions said, then the next day poor Sapphy had an open sore on her neck where the wormer had been. has anyone else had problems like this. mot sure whether i should send a pic and a complaint in???

Re: bob martin de wormer?

U used this wormer once, as it is easy to get off the shelf, I got a bit on my skin when I was doing it. It was not a nice feeling! and left a small burn mark.
My cats have very thick fur, so although the wormer seemed to work ok, I wasn't sure how much got to their skin, and if it felt the same to them as it did to me.
They did not like me putting it on, however it did not seem to cause them any discomfort when I had done it.

I think without a doubt you should send pics off to the company!

I have just been out to get cat wormer as it happens, and I got the drontal tablets. I much prefer pills, I find it so much easier to just 'shove them down their necks' and that way I know they have taken it, no problem.

For my new born kittens, I have panacur paste, ready for when they are two weeks, old. But I think this can be used on adult cats too, you would just need alot of it.

Ouch, have you taken her to the vets to get it treated ?
Had a thought, are there any numbers to contact the company ? I would ring them too

Re: bob martin de wormer?

Are you sure bob martin is ok for pregnant queens???
Did you speak to your vet, I thought you should avoid worming when pregnant, but if required, then to use something like panacure? I may be wrong though.

Re: bob martin de wormer?

Read this...
Vetcare Spot On

You should not have used it, I would phone the vet just to check there wont be any adverse damage.

Could it be some sort of hormone imbalance with pregnant cats that has caused this reaction?
