It is not simple it is probably such a massive subject that you could specialise in it people who are experts in it are still finding new combinations.
I think quite a few breeds have 'carriers' as such - moggies are such a mix they could have anything. I am sure you are right about your kittens but if you want to be certain peek at their bums

By the way, I have only sexed them by colour as a rough guide to the people that want them, I have explained to everyone that has requested one that the sex is subject to change.
I have looked at their bums too, and I think the colour sex predictions have matched up, but at this stage, it doesn't really matter what sex they are anyway, so i'm not too worried about making a mistake.

how can a cats sex be 'subject to change'??? they are either male or female...

as a family we have bred cats for many years and i can sex mine at birth and to this day have not made any mistake to sex.

it is wrong to sex by colour as others have pointed out you can get tortie males (although rare) and red females - i am yet to have any but it dosent mean you cant - i think this is quite a poor way to sex them. if you are in any doubt maybe you should seek the help of a vet or breeder.

Of course the kitten is not going to change sex, however the sex I believe them to be may change, I thought that was self explanitory.
It may be a poor way to sex them, but why do I need to be sure what sex they are at this stage?

i never said you had to be sure at this stage but of course you will want them going to homes knowing what sex they are ...... what i said was that is a poor way to sex them and if you are in doubt get the opinion of a vet or breeder, for now and for future reference.

i have heard of people being sued for selling 'males' as 'females' etc before - ok yours maybe going to people you know but it is still good practice to make sure you know what you have bred. (planned or unplanned)

im sure there are lots of breeders on here who can help you with the sexing if you need it.

Thanks, I have already found people to be very helpful, Emily sent me a link to some pictures to help sex them, and so I have checked under their bums too. Don't worry, they will visit the vet before they go to their new homes, so I'm sure they will double check the sex for me.

All the ones I reckon are boys have teeny tiny balls.

Girls 2 holes(for want of a better word)are closer together than boys 2 bits! which have a gap inbetween.

This is all very interesting!!! But that doesn't mean I understant it!!!.....LOL
I have no idea what you mean by colours being masked or carriers or anything (Gizmo is our 1st cat, and now her kittens are our 1st,2nd,3rd &4th kittens...LOL) I'll try to find a site to help me understand colours etc!!
