Lol I think it'll take about 5 minutes and you'll have twenty replies telling you how awful it is!
If you like to feed your cats dry as part of their diet try the Burns ocean fish biscuits. Blooming marvelous xx

Re: Hills Science Plan

Never used it myself...
just googled the ingredients though....
Quote:
Ingredient(s):

Chicken (min. 40%): Chicken, Pork, Wheat Flour, Salmon, Protein Powder, Calcium Sulphate, Cellulose Powder, Dl-Methionine, L-Lysine Hydrochloride, Burnt Sugar Syrup, Taurine, L-Tryptophan, Magnesium Oxide, Vitamins and Trace Elements.

Typical Analysis:

Moisture 5.5%, Protein 37.8%, Oils and Fats 25.1%, Fibre 1.5%, Ash 1.01%.
Can't see the point of the wheat flour except as a cheap filler - and burnt sugar syrup? what????

Am quite surprised that there's no more ppl on this thread! PF members are usually very vocal about Hills... as I say, I've never used it. And as I don;t feed my animals wheat, I doubt I ever will xx

Pets @ h vet recommended it to us and our kittens seem to like it they wont eat wet anymore! Just the jelly around it! With it being 30 quid a bag i thought it would be the best!

Just a word on that. Your kittens will eat wet if you take away their access to dry food. I tend to use dry food as a treat rather than a regular food supply but yes, kittens do seem to like the taste.

Re: Hills Science Plan

Yes we did do this for a few weeks and Norman will eventually eat it but Honey would not touch it she lived on a small amount of milk for a week as we give them this before bedtime! as she is slightly underweight I know we couldnt have persevered with much longer as she is a growing kitten and I would rather give them what they prefer anyway! I have always been told a dry diet is a lot better than a wet diet. Is this wrong? Im sure the vet wouldnt recommed a product he thought was no good?

Maybe not?

Re: Hills Science Plan

Vets are not nutritionists. Have you tried Honey on raw food?

Our cats love it, I just wish I could afford to feed them raw all of the time as their coats are wonderful and they have more energy.

Re: Hills Science Plan

Honey & Norman will not eat anything like that not even cooked meat, I gave them some chicken the other day cooked no skin on and they would not even entertain it

think they are going to be big fuss pots!

Any ideas how to get them to try it?

It's strange isn't it. I don't know really, it's difficult. We had one Bengal girl who wouldn't eat anything but dry food and when we gave her raw food she looked at us as if we were mad so we gradually reduced the amount of dry food and kept trying her with raw and wet.....now she's loves both and hardly ever has dry.
