adopting from the rspca

hey

we went to the local rspca center on saturday and fell in love with the most gorgeous little girl so have reserved her and are waiting for a call to confirm our home visit. i was just wondering if anyone has ever had a home visit before and could tell me what it involved?? my home is completely safe for animals (i realise they can`t take my word for it) but i don`t like the idea of a stranger going through our bedrooms etc basically i`m asking if they have to go around the entire house??

i found this center pretty strange, they`re part of the rspca but yet aren`t funded by the rspca and have to make their own money, seems weird lol

Re: adopting from the rspca

Well I've never had an homecheck but I don't think they will go through your bedrooms. They will probably want to see your garden to make sure the fencing is okay and that the dog can't get out and things like that.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Re: adopting from the rspca

i have no problem with them going around the downstairs of my house so i hope that you`re right Jazzy. it`s gonna be an indoor cat anyway so the garden shouldn`t really matter but again i don`t mind them looking. i just get very freaked with people going upstairs in my house lol

Yes I think I would be the same - especially with the state of my teenagers bedrooms.

Oh it's a cat you are getting not a dog.

I think they are probably just checking you live where you say you live and that you've got everything that's needed. I'm sure you will pass with flying colours.

Aww it will be nice for him to have a friend.

We had a cute little black and white kitten in our garden yesterday morning and she was showing interest in my two rabbits although the rabbits were still in their hutches and hadn't been let out for the day. The dogs went out and she just at there looking at them. Our eldest Bichon was doing his very best to scare her away but she still sat there so he gave up and came in.

Re: adopting from the rspca

haha bless, must have been 1 determined cat!! we have cats in our garden all the time but they`re petrified of my dog (not surprised since she`s hyper) the woman next door seems to just take in lots of cats which is the main reason i keep mine indoors, too scared of them fighting or catching something, we had a conservatory built the other day to give them extra space to roam and my boy hasn`t been out of it since
