Xmas and cats!!

I am really looking forward to putting the Xmas tree up and decorating it.. I am now thinking oh dear this year I have 2 kittens and this tree is not going to stay up for long! Lol... What do you give your cats for dinner on Xmas day?

Re: Xmas and cats!!

I've been having exactly the same thoughts the last few weeks- I'm thinking of putting up the decorations on Christmas Eve & taking them down again on Boxing Day. On Christmas Day all the animals get a special dinner, the cats generally get the meat & gravy only though as they won't eat the rest

Re: Xmas and cats!!

Haha! I hadn't even thought about Enzo and the Christmas tree... he will be about 7 months old - pure trouble!!!

Enzo is going to get a bag full of trash for Christmas! He seems to play with toilet rolls, plastic bags and crumbled up pieces of paper more than his store-bought toys... so that's what he is going to get!!!! Okay, maybe some treats too... if he is good! haha!

Re: Xmas and cats!!

We didn't bother putting a tree up last year, no point really the terror twins would have pulled it over.

This year with our additional family member we are only considering a tree.

They get fresh red salmon for breakfast and turkey for dinner (usually a bit of our Xmas dinner).

Re: Xmas and cats!!

i had a real xmas tree last yr, you can imagine the mess with six cats in the house, also we have to have our tree bear of balls at the bottom and just put alot of tincle there but make sure its not hanging as the cats love it. they have never knocked the tree down yet, we did have kittens about 5 years ago who did climb the tree but it didnt fall, so we was lucky.

Re: Xmas and cats!!

One of ours loves climbing up the middle and resting on a branch peering out. The other just knocks the lower baubles off and plays football with them! All fun and game....for them!

Re: Xmas and cats!!

I havent had a tree up for 5 years! lol!

My cats think its the best thing in the world! The last time I tried I got it assembled and got the decs out and that was as far as I got! There was tinsle everywhere, they were trying to climb the tree! It was a disaster! lol!

I could just see coming home form work every day and it being on the floor!

My babies have prawns for christmas dinner or lunch!

Last year I got them presents in a big bag and like little children it was the big bag they played in!

So good luck with getting that tree up and even more luck keeping it up!
