Safe Cleaning products for cats

What cleaning products do you use if you have cats, as I have always used the dettol surface wipes/spray and floor cleaner/disinfectant but it appears that this may well be harmful for cats, so I am now worried about making them ill if I continue to use it, so what is safe ???

Re: Safe Cleaning products for cats

I use cleaning products that is classed as safe for pets, either from the supermarket or p@h.

I have used standard cleaning products as it states the surface must be dry before use by animals, or words to that effect. I have always remembered that and I dry off even the stuff suitable for use on pets equipment.

I use unscented baby wet wipes too for wiping/cleaning my pets muddy paws etc..

I used Clean&Safe for Cats from pets at home. It fights salmonella and all other horrid things. Its good. Other than that baby wipes seem to come in very handy.

Yep, definitely don't use dettol or any other type of disinfectant that turns 'milky' in water.

I tend to use veterinary type products which are known to be safe to use around animals. Mainly I use Trigene which you can buy in ltre size and dilute down into a spray bottle. I use it on my worktops and just about anywhere in the kitchen (and elsewhere!) It works out very cost effective as you only need a small amount to make up a solution. Trigene Advance Disinfectant-Hyperdrug you can get Trigene wipes too.

I used to have a steam cleaner for most of the cleaning around the house. You can get things clean without using anything but water.
I can's use that anymore and now have a special pet safe cleaning product.
