Re: next door kittens left outside

Are you sure the shed is not converted into some kind of kitty heaven? It might be nice and snuggly in there for them, but because they see you coming they come crying for food. There might also be dry food they can graze at.

Of course if there's not, there is definately a need for calling the RSPCA.

Chat first - RSPCA after.

Re: next door kittens left outside

It's a difficult one as our neighbour does exactly the same with her cats. They are always hungry and begging for food for all my neighbours and us. Somebody reported her to the RSPCA as her dog was in a state, they sorted that out but said as the cats 'looked' healthy, they couldn't (more like wouldn't) do anything!

The RSPCA Inspector even hinted to me that as the cats weren't microchipped that the cats could 'go missing' and end up in a nice rescue shelter somewhere!

I would have no guilt about catnapping them and taking them to the cat shelter. Say theyve been living in your garden for the past week crying at night and nobody has been for them and you'd never seen them before, and youd been door knocking.

Re: next door kittens left outside

I'm not sure there is a problem, my outdoor cat had the freedom/choice to go out or stay in, he was in a routine and would choose to go out as I went out to work and ended up waiting for me to come home. He tended to stay in on rainy days. I could put my washing out with confidence if he went out, he only let me down a couple of times in 14 years.

I didn't have a cat haven shed, or cat flap. He was fed well, had regular vet checks etc., etc..

However in this case there could well be a problem.
