I live in a house with eight cats. Yes they some times smell, yes they some times eat a lot and some times they can be so annoying. You'll never guess what though, I can be a real pain in the backside, I some times reek of BO and I some times even stuff my face! (Only with Jaffa Cakes ) There is much more to me than that !! I have a lot of things I love to do and friends I love to see. My cats are similiar, they have their own unique personalities and enjoy the company of one another.

Nefertiti is the diva, she sits and preens and glares at every one. If you suggest some thing to her she will give you a look of digust. "How could you ever suggest such a thing?"

Tiramisu now shes a doll. She sits on your lap and purrs for England. She also loves to crunch up cooked turkey.

Leviticus well he just arrived but hes a big fuss pot but he pretends to be a cross patch. He growls at the slightest thing but I know hes a real baby underneath.

Serafina well shes also new, but shes a very caring and protective queen who guards her little ones (Gatsby, Amadeus, Cleopatra and Tosca) so fiercly.

I spend a lot of my time in my flat with my cats. I don't really like the night clubs and the pubs, I'd much rather be curled up in bed surrounded by cat spirits reading a nice book. This isn't because I am strange, I just choose to live a different way. I don't go mad in the shops and buy myself the latest fashions but do i care? no, I'd rather spend my money on a living breathing spirit, than a lifeless souless material thing..

I keep my house very clean for my kitties sakes at least. I get out of bed on a morning, and on dark days its not for me, its for them. The same goes for going to the shops.

It may seem sad or odd to you but my cats are much more to me than purely just cats. We are a family you see, each one of us unique. Just because they meow and are covered in fluff does not make them any less important. We share good times and bad.

So they smell a bit and eat quite a lot. I don't see how that matters because I will share a life time with them and that in my mind is priceless...

LOL there's nothing wrong with the way you live! People criticise me all the time for having lots of hamsters (well, not really a lot compared to some on here!), but I don't care. All my animals are happy, I'm happy, who cares if my house looks (and occasionally smells) like a bomb hit it!!!

People always told me my house stinked and they didnt like my cats. My boyfriend is included in that group. I used to run around cleaning like a mad lady until it made me sick because I always worried about it.

I know tell them its called the lived in look.

I have 4 cats but honestly if I could afford it and the resident cats wouldnt mind I have a hell of alot more! lol I could easily be the next "mad cat lady"

I think what hurt the most was how she siad I was being selfish. How i only wanted to keep them all for my own gain and that the cats wouldn't benefit from it. Shes a good person and she cares a lot about me (even if she can be a bit blun some times ). She also said that the cats wouldn't be happy due to over crowding.

I suppose she had a point. Its hard to tell what it'll be like with 8 cats in here, after all they are just fluffy little things sleeping in a bed in my bedroom right now.. and I have always said 4 was my absoloute limit... hmm. Maybe I'll keep one (mamma cat is definatly staying). Or maybe I'll just keep all four.

I guess time will tell !!

So what. My mum has 9 cats, some are indoor some are semi outdoor (let out in the morning but back in the afternoon because of foxes). They have a great quality of life are loved and never want for anything.

She has the time and the money to devote to these cats and her 2 dogs. It's her decision about what she wants to do and only when it affects other people can they complain, not before.

I'm planing on bringing a sphynx , birman, a calico, a orange cat and a few others home in the future but my limit would be eight.
