I'm happy with my world, sure someday I'd like a baby but at this moment I have two firbabys and make do with baby cuddles at work.
I've bought lots for the cats for christmas but since I'm working nights over christmas AGAIN and my family are over 200 miles away I have to have something to enjoy and open on christmas morning.
I've got them a stocking and special food for a treat and lots of toys. (He He Nala just poped up for a pet I think shes trying to read what santas getting her).
So if all that makes me feel a little better about not getting to see my family till new year and my sister, her kids, my parents all being together having a family christmas, well ya bo sucks to people who don't get it.
I LOVE MY FURBABYS.
and ya sound very happy good on ya

Re: The way I choose to live..

Same, people take the micky out of me for having two cats and because I spend time and money on them. I love my kitties and they are my world and I don't care who knows it ^^

Poo to them, they'll never know love like we do

It's none of their business how you live, hope you told them to mind their own!

Great point you're making there, I'm a firm believer in 'each to his/her own'.

Nice one!

Re: The way I choose to live..

i think what you are doing is brilliant, you took on poor mamma cat and her babies, not many people would do that tbh.
If you have the time and the love then where is the harm.
I would love to get another playmate or 2 for Meeka but my landlord won't let me in fact I would take on more than that.
My other half is always moaning about how much time and money I spend on my cat, it does my head in, I guess thats why I chose not to live with him lol, in fact I would quite happily be without him and it just be me, my kids, and my furbaby.
Meeka is more loving than my other half anyway

Keep up the good work and sod what anyone else thinks x

You'll never guess what though, I can be a real pain in the backside, I some times reek of BO and I some times even stuff my face! (Only with Jaffa Cakes ) There is much more to me than that !! I have a lot of things I love to do and friends I love to see. My cats are similiar, they have their own unique personalities and enjoy the company of one another.

Nefertiti is the diva, she sits and preens and glares at every one. If you suggest some thing to her she will give you a look of digust. "How could you ever suggest such a thing?"

Tiramisu now shes a doll. She sits on your lap and purrs for England. She also loves to crunch up cooked turkey.

Leviticus well he just arrived but hes a big fuss pot but he pretends to be a cross patch. He growls at the slightest thing but I know hes a real baby underneath.

Serafina well shes also new, but shes a very caring and protective queen who guards her little ones (Gatsby, Amadeus, Cleopatra and Tosca) so fiercly.

I spend a lot of my time in my flat with my cats. I don't really like the night clubs and the pubs, I'd much rather be curled up in bed surrounded by cat spirits reading a nice book. This isn't because I am strange, I just choose to live a different way. I don't go mad in the shops and buy myself the latest fashions but do i care? no, I'd rather spend my money on a living breathing spirit, than a lifeless souless material thing..

I keep my house very clean for my kitties sakes at least. I get out of bed on a morning, and on dark days its not for me, its for them. The same goes for going to the shops.

It may seem sad or odd to you but my cats are much more to me than purely just cats. We are a family you see, each one of us unique. Just because they meow and are covered in fluff does not make them any less important. We share good times and bad.

So they smell a bit and eat quite a lot. I don't see how that matters because I will share a life time with them and that in my mind is priceless...

Good for you xx after my own heart

I have ten dogs, six of which live in kennels but the older ones and pups are indoors which inenveitably means 'accidents' but you have to take the good with the bad
As long as you and your animals are happy b**ger anyone else x

Re: The way I choose to live..

Hi Miss Meow! Love your "location" - best place to be imvho.

As for what peeps think of your lifestyle, well, perhaps jealousy (on their part) comes into it somewhere.

Anyway, who buys the food, washes the dishes and blankets, cleans out the litter trays etc? Who pays the heating bills and for the shelter? Well that is the only person who has the right to talk about who / how many cats live(s) under YOUR roof.

Re: The way I choose to live..

Well said, ignore those sad and selfish people, sad because they will never know what its like to own a cat, their warmth and affection. Selfish because they don't share their life.

I was nicknamed cat woman at my previous firm. I own three cats, and one dog I was told cats are smelly. I use plug in room freshners and keep a clean house. Well may be my house does smell of animals, but at least its lived in - I never come home to a dark, cold, empty house, mine is full of life and love.

I wouldn't swap my life for anyone elses.

Sue

My house smells of animals but basically if they don't like it tough they don't have to come round. I don't drink, smoke or go out so my family and animals are my life.

Re: The way I choose to live..

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread!

Rock on cat lovers!!!!

I dont drink or go out partying I have never felt the need!

I have a nice flat, 2 cats, 2 kittens, a lovely bf and my own buisness, going out and getting drunk does nothing for me! Buying my babies a new toy or spending the night on my sofa with my bf and purring babies now thats a night!

I would quite happliy never have kids and just have cats (although im at my limit now with 4)

My mum said when I got my kittens "For godness sake Amy your house will stink"!!! That really really ticks me off!

I clean my cats litter trays as they poo and pee and a full wash out every 5 days! They never smell!

Ye they are expensive 16 boxes of 12 pouches, 2 2kg bags of dry food, 2 massive bags of catsan litter and 4 boxes of prawns and 6 packs of treats a month isnt cheap but when im lying in bed at night and I feel tiny little paws on my back or when fia looks at me from one side of the livingroom and runs right up to my and head buts my face or when they are all at the top of the stairs when I come in its all worth it!

My friends have lives, I love them dearly but my kitties are always there for a cuddle!

There is NEVER a dull moment in my house! My babies all fetch (thanks to much love, patince and time of my bf) and this provides hours of fun! They are all always doing something daft!

Ye I shout sometimes (not at them just generally) when things get tipped over for the 90th time that day or they steal £10 notes and hide them in bizzare places! (seriously! Dalia is the artful dodger!). It can be stressfull!

Each one of them has a personality of there own and they just rock! I freaking love them!

I cant imagine a life without my babies! They are my family and are treated as such! So if all of this make me a crazy cat lady then so be it but I am one HAPPY crazy cat lady!
