Re: Fireworks

my kittens don't seem bothered by them, but they are not watching them out of the window.

Re: Fireworks

Fireworks have never bothered my cats before but last night Tia was shaking and her eyes were like saucers! lol I just took her into the bedroom where it was quieter and kept her entertained to take her mind off them. Its the really loud fireworks that do it with the huge BANG at the end

Re: Fireworks

Timmy is getting better with them although there weren't too many last night, a few went off and he refused to go outside looking at me as if I was nuts when I opened the door for him, he ate his dinner and hopped off to bed and stayed there til 7am this morning lol It might be a different story tomorrow though as the park next door as their display going on

My old cat was never bothered at all he used to still go out, he hated staying in, when we had them in our garden one year he refused to go into the house and sat on top of his kennel watching lol My dog was another story, she used to cuddle up right next to you on the sofa for fusses lol

My horse was actually the worst for fireworks, we had a charity show in the evening one year and I was leading him out to the warm up paddock when one went off, I was strolling along in front of him as I always did but the firework scared him and he reared up kneeing me in the kidneys, it hurt like hell but it wasn't his fault, I was stiff and bruised for a few days but we still jumped the course clear in the show

Re: Fireworks

I think dogs are normally effected more. My two didn't seem to care and wanted to go out, but I kept them in just in case. Even if the cats aren't scared you never know if there are sick people about. Though my cats don't go far, they normally just wander around our nice quiet area.
