Re: worse??
They need worming on 12th Nov so not quite yet due. They were on HiLife pouches with Hills dry food too. But vet said to give them chicken/coley and rice with some prokolin paste. I think it might be coccidia as have googled yellow poop in kittens and this seems common in coccidia cases but will ring the vets tomorrow to see what they recommend. They seem fine in thereselves and not off food and still running round like maniacs... so all normal on other fronts. And yes drinking just water - no milk.

Re: worse??
ears and paws are cool - as usual, but i think Gilberts nose feels warmer than normal but he has been racing round the house so is prob a bit warm from running around. But yes i think i might need some antibiotics to be honest. This will be the second time though... poor things. I have been so careful with looking after them i cant work out why they're being so poorly all the time...

Re: worse??
on and off - first prob was an eye infection but vet thought it was from a scratch to the eye - drops etc for that, then bad tummy and bland food and then tummy not better so had antibiotics. They had their worming and flea treatments too. Then tummy was ok and got much better so they had their first vaccs and then a week later after being fine, they've got bad tummy and stinky slightly runny poop. Hence now being on chicken and rice but Gilbert seems worse so think i'll need antibiotics again. It just is such a shame as havent been able to enjoy having them yet as constantly at the vets!! Poor things - just want them to be healthy. Got them from a friend and didnt pay for them as she isnt a breeder so i cant complain to her and it isnt her fault either. S frustrating.

Re: worse??
A proper 3-day worming course with Panacur might help, as that will sort out any microbial infection (Giardia etc).

Re: worse??
My vet advises this treatment for kitten with poorly tums:-
Withold all food for 24 hours (difficult but necessary). Make sure cooled boiled water (not straight from tap) always available. Introduce cooked chicken cut into small pieces (no rice) and feed only this for couple of days. Gradually introduce back to regular food by mixing chicken at 50/50 ratio over a couple of days. This has worked for mine ....rice has always made their poos very runny and yellow so I would leave this out! Hope your poor kitties are better soon ![]() |
