Kitten Advice Needed Re: Baby Wipes and Outdoors

I am doing my best for Sooty and Sweep but I don't want to be causing more harm than good.

I have been wiping the tray at the bottom of the crate with baby wet wipes and drying it with kitchen paper towels. The pet cover is cleaned and placed on top of the plastic tray. It leaves a nice fagrance but should I just stick with plain water.

Bearing in mind I am still bathing their eyes on a morning could I on nice sunny days could I put the crate outside with the kittens in for them to get some fresh air or is it too soon, they will be 8 weeks tomorrow and start their innoculations on Friday.

Sue

Be carefull with cleaning products with kittens as there might be chemicals that may harm them.. I'm sure some peeps on here will have good tips as to which ones are cat friendly!

You could start putting the crate outside once they've had all their jabs and are under your watchfull eye. As long as there is also a shaded bit in the crate so if it's sunny they can cool off.

Thank you for replying that's brill - I tend to know a bit more about dogs than cats even though I have owned cats for a number of years in some ways I haven't I have fed them cleaned a lit tray and they sort themselves out.

I'll go back to using plain water unless someone knows of a product I can use and I will wait before I put the crate outside, I'm a bit old fashioned a believer in fresh air being good for you, but with these little ones I wasn't sure.

I use Johnson's Clean & Safe, disinfects everything but is safe for the furbabies!

Re: Kitten Advice Needed Re: Baby Wipes and Outdoors

Baby wet wipes are fine, I use them on my kittens when they get mucky after eating ect. I use the unfragranced ones with Aloe Vera. My litter trays get a wipe everyday with Asda lemon wipes and dried with kitchen roll. Once a week they are washed with watered down bleach or Zoflora and dried with kitchen roll.
As for putting them outside, I would'nt risk it until they've had all their needles. I open a window enough to let some air in, but not enough to let any of the cats out, lol.

Thats lovely a big thank you to all for replying.

They lazed in the sun through the unopened patio door and slept for hours. I dont want to take unnecessary risks.
