Re: baby going to the vets

Foods a good idea, if she's hungry let her eat it. Relax, it's ok she will be fine.

Yes, she should settle down in a while, cats tend to go wild the first time they have to wear a collar. Sometimes they struggle to eat with one on, and the vet advises you to take it off while they're eating if it's really difficult, but most cats manage OK if it's just the standard size collars.

Re: baby going to the vets

I dont think its on preoperly lol, I'll wait for her to calm down a bit then I'll have another look, why do they make them so fiddly?

I think she's pulled one of her stitches out too as there is a bit of fresh blood, another phone call to the vets to be told as long as the rest are in she should be ok !!! I bet they love me today.

I dont think I have worried over the kids as much as my poor Meeka lol

Yes, they're hideous things and they get really filthy too when they're all smeared with cat food! I remember my old cat had an ear problem and they kept putting bigger and bigger collars on him till he could hardly move. He tried to barge through the catflap and just bounced off one time because of it. I'd try not to worry too much, she's very active so obviously recovering from the anaesthetic.

If she hates the collar, and they are hideous things, is there anything you could use to cover the wound ? You need something stretchy and tubular ( like a sleeve from a kids long sleeve tshirt) long enough to cover the length of her body that you can cut 4 leg holes in. They pretend they are paralysed when you first put something like that on, but soon get used to it and its a lot less restrictive than a collar.

Maybe, but I thought it was important for air to get to the wound to assist healing?

Re: baby going to the vets

Just make sure its loose enough and not tight to the body. There is a garment you can buy for this purpose, but I can not find a link to it, plus its expensive.

Its just a suggestion to try and help you
