bl*ody Kids and fireworks

I hate this time of year, last night 2 kids lit a firework and threw it on the ground just as a lady was walking past with 2 dogs, it was an air bomb type of firework and my poor Meeka nearly had heart failure when it went off, I heard the lady with the dogs shouting like mad at them and her poor dogs were quivering wrecks, the kids ran off laughing. it just makes me so mad

then this morning i read this in the sun Cat dies after having a firework strapped to its back and lit | The Sun |Home Scotland|Scottish News it makes my blood boil.... rant over

Edit: there is a graffic picture of the poor cat, sorry if I have upset anyone by not warning them when i originally posted this

how evil, they just have no respect for other people yet alone animals.

I am going to be keeping my cats in alot this week because of this type of thing which is pretty unfair to the cats but it is in their best interests.

Can i just add that there is a really horrible photo on that link to the Sun newspaper - I'm surprised they added it.
Whilst it didn't ruin my day, I do feel it could really upset some people, and wanted to warn you all.

If you are feeling already a bit emotional, have recently lost a cat, or get upset easy, PLEASE don't click the link!

Re: bl*ody Kids and fireworks

Am I alone in thinking that fireworks should be banned from general sale? Waste of money and dangerous, official displays are OK but other than that it's just asking for trouble.

Re: bl*ody Kids and fireworks

OOOOH don't get me started on this...... one year as a vetnurse we had a cat brought in injured by some mindless thugs who tied a rocket to his tail and set it off. The poor cat was so traumatised and I still shiver when I think of his injuries; trauma and poor owners when they saw him. I hate this time of year with fireworks going off almost every night from before Halloween to the end of November. They should be banned to one night a year only and only for use by organised events with permission from the authorities. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs and the cats are fed up with the catflap being shut every night already.

I hate fireworks, and would be quite happy for them to only be available for organised events. I don't really see the appeal, and sadly there are too many people out there who 'use' them wrong.
