Cats best oko plus cat litter

I'm switching over to oko plus gradually.
Who uses it?
I'll obviously scoop the poop and clumps every day but how often do you normally top up litter and also how often do you change the whole litter and wash the tray.
How long does a bag notmally last bearing in mind I have 2 kittens.
Thanks

Re: Cats best oko plus cat litter

I use it, one of the best I've found. I have 8 trays and still find it economical. I scoop several times a day and do a clean out once a week retaining unused litter to put back in trays. I double up on the trays, so when I do a clean out I can just put the unused litter into the spare trays and top up. I use a large metal serving spoon to scoop the clumps and solids, its much easier to keep clean than those slotted plastic scoops. As I said in another thread - its only downside is the tracking!

I have changed to Cats best natures gold. It is a larger pellet with less tracking and doesnt stick to their fur, but still clumps. I scoop out a few times a day and completely change about once a week and reckon 10 ltr bag last approx a month

Re: Cats best oko plus cat litter

We used this as our first litter and it really is good.........apart from the tracking! It gets every where. I like the fact the wees clump and you can remove them from the tray. Have switched to CatSan now which doesn't track, but it pongs a bit because the wees stay in the bottom, so requires regular full changes. The cats best litter lasted for ages.

Re: Cats best oko plus cat litter

I love this stuff.

We started off with Catsan as thats what thte kittens were used to, but then switched to Oko Plus.

When I do a full litter change I do make sure it is very full of clean stuff, nice and deep, just so I don't have to top up every time I scoop.
I was originally doing a full change / tray wash every week, but being honest it really didn't need it so I've cut down to once every 2 weeks. Obviously I still scoop a lot and I am really anal (no pun intended!) about getting out all the dirty bits! The week I'm not changing it I usually top it up.

A bag will last me about month like this, maybe 5 weeks, with two kittens. That's the normal 10litre bag - I'm hoping to order a 40 litre abg at some point, as that should work out so much cheaper.

Re: Cats best oko plus cat litter

I use it and I must say it's really brilliant - economical, clumps really well and you can flush it down the toilet. The only con is the tracking, but if you're willing to hoover more often, that shouldn't be a problem. It's also a bit cheaper than World's Best (which is very good, too).
I top up roughly once a week and, just like Ambercat, retain the good litter when cleaning the tray.

My 2 are 12 months now but a bag lasts nearly 3 weeks I think. I wont use anything else now
