Re: Clumping Vs Non-clumping...?

Clumping! We, and the cats, like Sainsburys ultra-clumping.

I don't think there is such a thing ... if there is we haven't found it!

We've found this setup helps - we have a litter tray with a lid so the cats can only get in/out from one side, the tray is on (coconut?) mats with the entrance facing the wall so the cats have to walk over the mats to get in/out. Almost all the excess sticks to the mats rather than being tracked through the rest of the house.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words -

Time to give the mats a clean maybe

Edit - that's Algy's green towel. He loves to be dried off with it when he's been out in the rain

We use this too...along with a coconut mat...or whatever they're called. Most of the litter collects on the mat and any that is around the box (which isn't much), we just use a hand held vacuum to quickly pick it up.

Re: Clumping Vs Non-clumping...?

I was told to use non clumping whilst little incase they decide to eat it and it clumps in their tummies!

I have been using tesco value litter and it does its job! no complaints from max and its a good price. (£1.50ish for 10lts)

definitely non-clumping for me! Can't stand the tracking with the fine grained clumping litters. Fresh News is the best litter I've ever used, in 29 years of owning cats )

Re: Clumping Vs Non-clumping...?

Tried clumping once and it made a mess lol

After experimenting with all sorts we now use Tescos no frills cat litter - £1.12 per bag and just change the tray daily, much easier. 2 1/2 bags will last the week and its still cheaper than the other brands :-)
