Re: Introducing kittens...
Could you get something from the breeder so you can introduce Alfie to her smell - like a blanket from her bed.
I would then let him smell her in the carrier when you bring her in but let her out in a quiet room with food, bed, litter tray etc in and let her investigate without interruption. Then once she seems settled let him in too and just supervise their reactions to one another. In my experience they will hiss and maybe growl and shout a little at one another this is normal but if it's a full on screaming fight you will have to seperate them and take things slowly putting them in seperate rooms and letting them sniff one another through the door before they're more familiar and then try little meetings and see if they become more friendly. Re: Introducing kittens...
There are many ways to do this. I usually take the kitten into it's own room. Made up with bed, tray, food, water, toys, etc.... I then gauge how the kitten is, whether it's shaking and hiding or out and wanting to explore. Try playing with the kitten to encorage the kitten or try some smelly tasty food.
If the kitten was confident then I belive the best way is to put the kittens together and let them sort out their friendship. The more they see each other the better. Just ensure the kitten is in perfect health because you don't want alfie getting anything. Make sure she doesn't have a funny nose/eyes etc... |

Re: Introducing kittens...
Yes the kitten is coming from a very reputable breeder. I went to her house the other day to see her and her other ragdolls.
She is a confident and playfull kitten but not too boistrous at the same time. I'm sure it will be fun seeing their reactions when they meet each other! ![]()

Hiya!
Well i now have my Alfie He is very confident and already walks round like he owns the place. I let Betz sniff him through the carrier first she was fine with that and he hissed once but soon relaxed. When they were introduced yesturday Betz wasnt sure, Alfie was desperate to say hi, then he jumped on my lap and that was it, Betula washissing and growling i told her to behave and she went into her room and sulked, she would not come out So today ive let them get on with it, obviously strictly supervised, there is some chasing and Betz has hissed a few times at him when he gets too close, but they are eating in the kitchen together and she will let him sit near her. She even played for 5 mins with him when she was a having a mad moment. This is my first time bonding cats, i think its important to too tell the resident cat off because like Betz they end up being in a bad mood and sulking the rest of the day! Im giving Betz loads of attention and trying to keep her in a playful mood.... shes starting to come round and is rolling over in front of him and looks relaxed in the room with him now. Its scary though!!! I think you should introduce them once your kitten is confident and happy in his surroundings, Alfie is 15 weeks and is very well socialised with 9 cats being in the house he was born in, 6 being his brothers and sisters! I cant believe how quickly he has settled ![]() Looking forward to seeing pics of your kitten and hearing how he settles in.

When asked why, the boy explained that the stranded starfish would die if left to lie in the morning sun. ‘But there are millions of starfish on this beach' said the old man. ‘How can your efforts make a difference?’The boy picked up another starfish and placed it in the waves. ‘It makes a difference to this one.' he said |
