Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

When I looked at the thread earlier today, there some comments from the public on the Telegraph website stating the article was a hoax. Further comments had been blocked - but looking at it now, the readers' comments have all vanished

Something is not quite right

NEW2CATS will become famous soon enough
Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

i guess it is possible the situation wasnt as bad as they said and they played it up to get publicity, support and donations.
after all they have now rehomed most of the cats and apparently now have the means to support themselves again.

but i hope not cos it stops people from giving to genuine charities if they are duped by a fake one.

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

I looked at this the other day (I posted a thread about it) and I got the jist that there was an outbreak of ringworm infection and it was the vets bills that they couldn't afford. Or have I just made that up?

I was going to offer a donation but could not find a website or get any response from them so it seemed a bit iffy to me to be honest

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

Just read this as a comment from someone who works there :

I am a volunteer at Decoy Kitten Rescue.

Anyone wishing to donate money can send a cheque made payable to: C.Hardwicke (Decoy Kitten Rescue) and send it to: Decoy Kitten Rescue
40 Keyberry Park
Newton Abbot
Devon
TQ12 1DF

Please note that we never spoke to the daily mail or ANY of the tabloids.
NONE of our animals were going to be destroyed... we rescue NOT kill.

All the cats that are ready for rehoming have been allocated and homes are ready and waiting for our little ones when they are ready too.

I appologise for people not being able to get through on the phone but we have been experiencing high call volumes.

We do have a Facebook page... just type Decoy Kitten Rescue in the search box to find us.

You can also message Claire Hardwicke directly on Facebook.

I hope this helps

thankyou

kind regards

Lisa

Looks like the daily mail may have been making a big thing out of nothing

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

am glad it seems genuine
though i would be worried about sending the cheque made out to the lady and not the shelter itself

lol think i am just too cynical

Yes I must admit I was confused why they won't let the RSPCA help too.

Probably because they know what the RSPCA's "help" is likely to be!
