They have 26 older cats to be euthanised too. I imagine advertising 60 kittens on death row will attract more attention and tug at more heart strings!

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

i also know of several car rescues who have contacted tehm - but haven't had any response.

apparently they are not a proper charity either, some people have been thinking that they might be collecters! hmmmm

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

Many people go to the RSPCA, Woodgreen Animal Shelter, etc and don't find what they are looking for.

I wonder if the the 'big' shelters could point people in the direction of this one?

I went to the RSPCA and Woodgreen Animal Shelter for a few weeks solid and never felt like any of the kittens or cats were the 'right one'. If someone had pointed me in the direction of another rescue, I would have definitely gone.

I wouldn't mind fostering a couple of kittens (for as long as needed), but I would not be able to offer a permanent home.

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

I dont post on here much but after reading this on here and had a look around something just does not seem right about the place. No charity will ask for cheques to be made out to a person and it seems strange.

It could be someone that is breeding them for money and using the papers to get the cash in before christmas.

Chris

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

I just hope at the end of the day these poor kittens will find homes.
Maybe the newspaper would have more info on this subject.

Re: 60 kittens to be killed...

Well, it says they're a registered charity:

The rescue centre, a registered charity, was set up three years ago by animals lovers Claire and John Hardwicke.

I would have some and let the cat rescue I work for know that these are needing homes, however, I won't be able to get down to Devon.

They seem suspicious to me and I think you're right, Chrisb.

I think they're breeding them, and getting the money for the cats.

Also... I saw this on her Facebook:

"Claire Hardwicke All cheques have to be made out to 'Claire Hardwicke (decoy kitten rescue)' not just to Claire Hardwicke!! Otherwise they cannot be accepted as a donation!! Thankyou"
