I agree 100%, if they weren't there in the first place, they wouldn't have to be rescued! We too didn't undergo any kind of check - we may not have been allowed to keep animals for all they know!! they didn't even ask where we'd be keeping him, if we hadn't any previous experience etc etc it's very worrying. I guess it's like the fur trade....if people didn't buy into it, it couldn't continue as a profitable business.

Hiya,

Apparently some people are having problems with signing the petition.

Have signed, although I doubt very much a ban will happen - they are technically classed as 'goods', distasteful as that is, and that can't feasibly be changed. Possibly a license to sell kittens/puppies that's prohibitively expensive and involves lots of welfare checks.

I think pet shops do have to have a licence but it's woefully inadequate. Upping the cost of said licence is a good idea
