Re: Kitten Vaccinations

The thing is I guess, it's like with anything else. Some breeders may experience problems with a specific brand of flu vaccine that other breeders have never had problems with. Each to their own really After what happened to our cats I am very "anti" the FeLV jab now and it is true that it should be given in the leg as opposed to the neck because if sarcomas do appear in the leg, then the leg can be removed. I think in the USA it is fairly common practice to give the jab in the leg.

Re: Kitten Vaccinations

Also the vaccinations are for peace of mind as they offer no guarantee's yes i suppose it's each to their own-even if your cat/kitten has had this vaccine if said cat/kitty is ever in a situation where it could contract FelV-then it's still no safer than if it hadn't so Saffron read up and ask around and do your own risk assessment and of course speak to your vetI guess it comes down to is it a risk you need/want to take with your cat

Re: Kitten Vaccinations

Our vet advised us against the Leukemia vaccine in his later years in view of the risk of the vaccine set aside the risk of Feline Leukemia.

I think each case should be assessed on it own merits. My two little ones will be vaccinated against everything unless the vet has strong reasons/opinions against it as he did with Jasper.

Likewise... I heard that it can be dangerous too
