OMG! No, not at 9 weeks. Same as Tashi I would never leave a kitten at home alone. Is there nobody that could look after her for you at all ?

I would say no too, not only do you face coming home to destruction as she will be bored she may not have access to food, water, escape from certain dangers that may arrise. Cant you lend keys to a neighbour or find a friend to have her just for 2 days? Too much could happen in 48hrs to consciously leave her alone. (Just my opinion)

Re: going away for the weekend

I would also say no to this its far too long for a kitten of 9 wks, as asked earlier can you not find someone to care for her for 2 days, it not, is it possible for you to postpone your trip until you have someone to care for her for you?

Re: going away for the weekend

Definately no, she is far too young. Can you not get someone to pop round everyday to feed her and give her some attention?

There are many reasons why you shouldnt but here are some major things to consider:

1) she may knock over her water bowl and have nothing to drink. It takes literally hours for a cat to die of dehydration!

2) she may hurt herself and you are not there to take her to the vet

3) she may become ill. By the time you come back it may be too late

4) seperation anxiety, resulting in naughty behaviour

Hope this helps - please let us know what you have arranged.

Re: going away for the weekend

Definitely not. I personally wouldn't leave a cat of any age home alone for 2 days. I'd be terrified something would go wrong i.e. they could get stuck in something, get tangled in a venetian blind cord, lots of things could happen. Also, cats do love company and a baby left on her own would be incredibly lonely. It truly is not worth thinking about. If you can't get a family member or friend to house/kitten sit for you, then take the baby away with you Even a neighbour popping in throughout the day/night would be something.

No way can you leave a kitten on its own for 2 days, I do hope that you are not going to do that.

Re: going away for the weekend

To be truthful are you sure you are cut out to be a kitten owner having read your other thread on here as well I think perhaps you should think as to whether this kitten is in a suitable home and perhaps rehome before too long.

I read that too Tashi, I have to say, I think you are right. It's a shame people don't think ahead and what owning an animal involves.
