Re: going away for the weekend

No you cant go away and leave a tiny kitten on its own . Poor thing I hate leaving mine when i go away even if its only overnight and they are 11 and the persians are 2. My aunty looks after them or they would go in a cattery if she was not around to look after them.

Re: going away for the weekend

Have to agree with all the above..

Our next door neighbours look after ours if we go away, sadly leo doesn't travel well so we can't take them with us (when we go to my parents)

Re: going away for the weekend

i have 2 cats over a year old,i would never dream of leaving them alone overnight let alone all weekend

i go away for weekends to my caravan at least once a month,my 20 year old daughter is here with them.she lives with me.but if there is any time she cant be here then i dont go.simple as that.

although my daughter dreads it cos im always calling to make sure they are ok and i miss them badly.

I think you do really have a choice Tali - that's why you're on here asking. My answer would be along the same lines as everyone else - especially knowing that the poor little one would be lonely. Its cruel.

Re: going away for the weekend

Nothing is really that important that justifys leaving a baby like that on its own... we just had a dilemma of having to go to a funeral 4 hours away with a puppy that couldnt be in the car more than 5 mins without being sick and worse! but we had to take her as we had no other option u just have to be prepared.....turns out it wasn't so bad....but I even felt bad cos they were left at the house we were staying at for 5 hours during the funeral couldn't wait to get back and get them out

NO!!
I have to go away in July for a weekend and I've just realised my kittens will only be 6 weeks - I feel sick - and that's with knowing they will have a few of my cousins staying here with them!!

Don't want to go now!

i think there is a lesson here to anyone thinking of buying a pet. a pet is like a child it needs taking care of.think long and hard before you buy ANY pet.

Yeh definately, you have to think about these things before getting a pet.. you should already know what to do with your kitten if you ever needed or wanted to go away before you even get it!
